WHAT'S NEW JOSEPHINE?
A new one-woman show about reclaiming the black feminine erotic through the lens of Josephine Baker's life. They called Josephine the Black Pearl, the Black Venus, and a "savage" beauty, but she was so much more. Inspired by my own life experience, the life of Josephine Baker, and Audre Lorde's essay "Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power."
This show will offer a bold new look at the intersections of race, gender, sexual expression and trauma.
